Clement Bataille received his MSc in environmental engineering in 2008 from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, France, and obtained his PhD in Geology in 2014 from the University of Utah. He spent several years in Houston, Texas, working as a geoscientist before returning to academia to take a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
