Biography

Cleverick C.D. Johnson is a tenured professor and vice chair in the Department of General Practice and Dental Public Health at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. He currently directs the school’s Urgent Care Clinic. Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston in 1986 and joined the faculty of UTSD in 1990. He maintained a continuous private practice until retiring in the fall of 2013. His significant service includes 12 years as director of recruitment for the Office of Student Alumni Affairs. He has been actively involved in local, state, and national committees and boards within organized dentistry. Dr. Johnson's research interests focus on oral diagnosis, oral identification of substance-abusing patients, and developing improved methods for educating dental students.
