Biography

Professor Cramer has spent over 25 years in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and financial services sectors. He was Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in the Global Healthcare Investment Banking Group and at JPMorgan in the Corporate Finance Group, providing M&A services and financing to global healthcare enterprises. He served as Vice President of Corporate Planning & Development at Merck & Co., Inc., with worldwide responsibilities in strategic planning and business development. Additionally, he co-founded American Health Capital and VHA Enterprises, Inc., which are healthcare financial services companies. He has held investment banking positions at Paine Webber, L.F. Rothschild, and Unterberg, Towbin, Inc. Professor Cramer created the Healthcare Pharmaceutical Management Program at Columbia Business School and served as its director from 2006 to 2015. He received the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2015.
