Biography

Professor Clinton William Francis is a tenured faculty member at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he teaches and researches in areas including Corporate Restructuring/Bankruptcy, Commercial Law, Intellectual Property, Intellectual Capital Management, Medical Innovation, and Value Chain Management. He received his initial legal training in New Zealand, where he obtained LLB and LLM degrees and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the New Zealand Supreme Court. Prior to joining Northwestern University in 1978, Professor Francis taught at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand and completed his Doctorate in Law (SJD) at the University of Virginia School of Law. Professor Francis has also taught courses in conjunction with the Kellogg School of Management and participates in executive training programs, including teaching at KAIST Graduate School of Management in Seoul, South Korea. His professional activities include serving on boards of corporations and undertaking select consulting assignments.
