Dr. Clive Dickinson

Biography

Clive Dickinson is a Professor of Astrophysics at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, University of Manchester. He obtained his Master of Physics with Honours in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Manchester in 1999 and completed his PhD in 2002, specializing in radio astronomy at the Jodrell Bank Observatory. His research primarily focuses on understanding radio/microwave emissions and large angular scales, particularly in cosmic microwave background (CMB) intensity mapping experiments. He has been involved in several world-leading CMB experiments and has led major research projects like the C-Band All-Sky Survey. Additionally, Professor Dickinson has a technical background in optical imaging and has held significant positions at institutions such as NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech. Over the years, he has received several accolades, including the Royal Astronomical Society Michael Penston Prize for his PhD thesis and has been awarded the STFC Advanced Fellowship. His work contributes significantly to the field of astrophysics and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
