Dr. Clodualdo Aranas

Biography

Clodualdo Aranas is an Associate Professor at the University of New Brunswick in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where he also serves as the Director of the Alloy Design Materials Testing Research Laboratory (AD-MTRL). His research focuses on thermomechanical processing and mechanical properties of materials, particularly phase transformation in metal alloys. He has made significant contributions to understanding dynamic phase transformations in steels and has developed thermodynamic models to predict the high-temperature mechanical behavior of these materials. His recent work encompasses various research interests including alloy development, mechanical testing, and additive manufacturing of metallic materials. He is engaged in designing advanced high-strength materials that are energy efficient. Throughout his career, Aranas has published numerous papers in respected journals and has participated in significant contributions to the field of materials engineering, demonstrating a commitment to advancing the discipline through innovative research and practical applications.
