Biography

Cody M. Allen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on improving productivity, efficiency, and safety in modern agriculture, with primary interests in controls sensing for automated on- and off-highway machine systems and precision digital agriculture technologies. His group conducts research on engine powertrains, exploring new technologies and architectures to reduce non-renewable energy consumption and harmful emissions. He completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University in 2019 and has a Master's and Bachelor's degree from the same field. He has been awarded the Ben Georgeann Jones Excellence in Teaching Award in 2023 and has consistently been recognized by students for his teaching effectiveness in several courses. Additionally, he held a position as a Guidance Control Engineer at Boeing Company before joining academia.
