Colin Camerer is the Robert Kirby Professor of Behavioral Economics at the California Institute of Technology. He earned a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1976, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1979, and a Ph.D. in 1981. Before joining Caltech in 1994, he held positions at Northwestern University and Pennsylvania State University. Camerer has served as the past president of the Economic Science Association and is an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Notable projects include investigating self-control in relation to tempting foods and emotional regulation during financial loss using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), as well as employing transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to influence decision-making processes and eye-tracking for attentional measurement.
