Biography

Colin Chamberlain’s research interests lie in 17th and 18th-century European philosophy, with a particular focus on the works of René Descartes, Margaret Cavendish, and Nicolas Malebranche. He has published widely on the implications of embodiment, exploring how the body shapes the mind and how bodies are incorporated in philosophical discourse. Currently, he is co-editing the Oxford Handbook on Malebranche and is in the early stages of writing a book on Malebranche. Chamberlain holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He began his academic career at Temple University in Philadelphia before joining University College London in 2023.
