Biography

Colin Marshall received his B.A. in Philosophy from Reed College in 2003 and his Ph.D. from New York University in 2010. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington. His academic work focuses primarily on the history of philosophy, particularly the philosophies of Kant and Schopenhauer, as well as issues within ethics. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Marshall is finalizing two significant book projects: 'Hear Change Minds Lies, Bullshit, Moral Compromise,' which is forthcoming in Fall 2026 from the University of Chicago Press, and 'Schopenhauer's Guide to a Tolerable Life,' which is under contract with Princeton University Press.
