Colin Novak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive & Materials Engineering at the University of Windsor. He obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor in 2005, with a dissertation focusing on the implementation of manifold bridge tuning for noise control in automotive intake systems. His research interests encompass the development of sound quality and psychoacoustic metrics aimed at improving both automotive and consumer product sound. He investigates community noise expectations and the control of airport and aircraft noise emissions. His studies also include noise source location and mitigation strategies for large mining equipment, as well as predictive noise emission models for large electrical reactors and transformers. Additionally, he conducts research on binaural hearing perception and the application of loudness metric calculations. Novak is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Professional Engineers Ontario and the Audio Engineering Society.
Includes Mechanical, Automotive, and Materials Engineering streams.
