Dr. Colleen Keough

Biography

Colleen M. Keough is a Clinical Professor at USC Annenberg University with over 30 years of experience in academia. She has designed and taught 22 courses, served as the public speaking course director, and has mentored numerous instructors and students, particularly focusing on curriculum development. Keough is an advocate for academic-practitioner collaborations and has served as a faculty mediation officer and a Fulbright Scholar coach. Her academic research interests encompass a wide range of areas including communication, alternative dispute resolution, negotiation, organizational culture, food communication, and civic engagement. Keough's work emphasizes engaged scholarship, integrating theoretical research with practical applications drawn from her past industry experience. She has conducted workshops on strategic planning and financial management in Central and Eastern Europe and has facilitated negotiation workshops for Chinese and Japanese clients. Keough has received several awards, including the W. Charles Redding Dissertation Award from the International Communication Association’s Organizational Communication Division and has been a nominee for the USC Mellon Award for Faculty Mentoring.
