Biography

Colleen McNamee holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dalhousie University (2005) and a Master of Nursing from the University of Toronto (2012). Her clinical expertise primarily involves medical-surgical acute care adult patient populations and care for elderly post-acute patient populations. Colleen has held a number of professional practice and education leadership positions in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Over the past decade, she has focused on teaching in academic and clinical practice settings, facilitating learning for undergraduate and graduate nursing students, nurses, health care professionals, educators, and health care leaders. Her educational programming aims to deliver measurable impact on provider and patient outcomes. Colleen’s professional scholarly interests include transition to professional nursing practice, interprofessional education and collaboration, nursing leadership, knowledge translation, practice implementation, intersectionality in nursing, relational practices, patient safety, and issues related to diversity, power, and privilege in health care.
