Biography

Colleen Norris is a registered nurse and professor at the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. She holds a PhD in Epidemiology and has served as an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. Dr. Norris is recognized for her leadership in developing and disseminating evidence-informed strategies that transform clinical practice and impact policy related to women's health. Her extensive research program focuses on sex and gender factors that impact women’s heart health. Since August 2022, she has held the Cavarzan Chair in Mature Women’s Health Research, an endowed chair supported by a generous gift from the Alberta Women’s Health Foundation. Additionally, Dr. Norris has taken on the role of interim associate dean of research in the Faculty of Nursing, where her research expertise is invaluable to faculty members and students alike.
