Biography

Colm brings extensive professional engineering experience to support NGCF’s operations. He has directly worked as a geotechnical engineer leading global consultancies based in Western Australia and New Zealand, and as a Civil Engineer leading contractors in Ireland. His work involves complex geotechnical projects for Australian clients including the Department of Defence, Public Transport Authority WA, Main Roads WA, Water Corporation WA, Power and Water Corporation NT, Rio Tinto, Pilbara Ports Authority, Gold Fields, and Talison Lithium. Colm was awarded a PhD in Offshore Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Western Australia in early 2016 and returned to UWA in mid-2019 to focus on managing commercially funded research projects at the NGCF, where he also serves as deputy director. His expertise aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals of 2015, particularly those related to industry and sustainable development.
