Dr. Cong Su

Biography

Cong Su is a Professor of Materials Science at Yale University, where he leads the Atomic Engineering Group. His research focuses on developing methods to modify atomic structures using electron beams. Areas of interest include the use of transmission electron microscopy for the modification of atomic structures in 2D materials, the in-situ investigation of crystal structures under varying conditions, and the synthesis of pristine and doped 1D/2D materials through chemical vapor methods. His work also encompasses the simulation of electronic structures, spectroscopies, and atomic dynamics through first-principles and empirical calculation methods. The Atomic Engineering Group is dedicated to advancing the understanding of atomic-level manipulation and its applications in material science.
