Biography

Connie Wu is an Assistant Professor in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan. She integrates bioanalytical chemistry, materials engineering, and biomolecular engineering approaches to develop diagnostic and therapeutic platforms. Her research focuses on multifunctional RNA therapeutics, immunoengineering, and targeted delivery applications, alongside the development of ultrasensitive single-molecule detection technologies applicable in cancer diseases. Connie earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Yale University and her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she worked in the lab of Dr. Paula Hammond on engineered polymeric RNA interference delivery systems. After completing her graduate studies, she transitioned into the diagnostics field during her postdoctoral research in the lab of Dr. David Walt at Brigham Women’s Hospital and the Wyss Institute at Harvard University, where she pioneered methods for ultrasensitive single-molecule protein detection.
