Biography

Connor Brown is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia with a research focus on semantics, pragmatics, and language contact. His research primarily investigates semantic and pragmatic issues related to cross-linguistic variation and contact-induced grammatical change, particularly in endangered languages and mixed languages. He is currently involved with the revitalization of the Miriwoong language in the East Kimberley region, and he works closely with speakers of Northern Australian Kriol to develop orthographic materials for educational purposes. Connor aims to engage with and contribute to community language initiatives, bridging the gap between academic research and practical language use.
