Biography

Conor J. Kelly is a Bingham Early Career Fellow in Constitutional Studies at Balliol College, Oxford. His research primarily focuses on Irish, British, and European constitutional politics, with a particular emphasis on the politics surrounding Northern Ireland. His work includes analyzing the shifting political positions of Northern Ireland’s parties, debates on European integration, and discussions regarding the constitutional future of the region. Prior to joining Oxford, Conor was employed at the UCL Constitution Unit from 2019 to 2024 as a Research Assistant and Project Manager, contributing to projects on unification referendums in Ireland, and serving as an Honorary Research Associate thereafter. He has taught undergraduate courses in British Politics and Politics of the European Union at UCL and has engaged as a Guest Teacher at LSE. Conor holds a PhD from Birkbeck College, University of London, along with a BA from the University of Galway and an MA from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
