Biography

Conrad Heilmann is a professor of philosophy and economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and serves as the vice-dean for research at the Erasmus School of Philosophy (ESPhil). He is the Co-Director of the Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Economics (EIPE) and has contributed to various significant research projects focusing on intertemporal rationality, measurement, fairness, and methodology in financial economics. Heilmann co-edited the 2022 Routledge Handbook on Philosophy Economics and is actively engaged in steering committees and workshop series that aim to advance understanding of decision-making in economics. He has taught graduate students in philosophy and science for over ten years through the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) and part-time PhD programs. His educational background includes an MSc in Philosophy Social Science from the London School of Economics and a PhD in philosophy from the same institution. Since joining the Erasmus School of Philosophy in 2011, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the research agenda and educating upcoming generations of scholars in philosophy and economics, contributing to the foundational objectives of EIPE.
