Biography

Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Constantine Karathanasis has had an interest in Greco-Roman antiquity traced back to his elementary school years, fueled by curiosity during school trips to archaeological sites and museums. His enhanced love for literature and history, alongside an enduring fascination with the Classical world, prompted an exciting academic journey from Greece to Texas. His work broadly focuses on the socio-political history of ancient Athens. Currently, he is preparing a monograph that explores the influence of Athenian public finance on democratic civic behavior during the Classical period. In addition to his primary research, he indulges in Latin elegy and satire as guilty pleasures.
