Biography

Constantinos Savva graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Ioannina, Greece in 2010 with upper honors. He completed an MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 2011, followed by Foundation Core Medical training in the Mersey East England deaneries from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, he became a member of the Royal College of Physicians. He was awarded a NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship at the University of Nottingham where he also underwent medical oncology training. In 2018, he obtained a CRUK Clinical Research Fellowship in Cancer Immunology and Biology at the University of Southampton, completing his PhD in breast cancer immunology in 2022. He later completed a PGCert in Clinical Bioinformatics at the University of Manchester. Appointed as a NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Medical Oncology, his research focuses on immunometabolism and how metabolic reprogramming of immune cells can improve clinical outcomes in breast cancer patients. He has been involved in various research projects exploring the effects of immunomodulatory treatments and metabolic interventions on breast cancer, particularly in relation to obesity. Additionally, he co-leads the Research Skills module for the MSc in Cancer Biology and Immunology at Southampton.
