Dr. Coren Apicella

Biography

Coren Apicella is a Professor and the Director of the Undergraduate Honors Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Psychology. She has a rich academic background with a BA in Psychology from Bradford College, an MS in Evolutionary Psychology from the University of Liverpool, and both an MA and PhD in Biological Anthropology from Harvard University. Apicella's research primarily focuses on decision processes, evolutionary psychology, and social cultural psychology. Her selected publications, which include studies on the evolutionary origins of the endowment effect and the dynamics of cooperation among hunter-gatherers, underscore her contributions to the field. She has instructed various courses, including Social Psychology and a seminar on Behavioral Biology. Apicella is committed to advancing the understanding of human behavior through her innovative research and teaching efforts.
