Biography

Corey Chartan, D.O., FAAP is an associate professor and medical director at the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas. He is board-certified in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine, serving as the chief of the Division of Pulmonary Hypertension and medical director at the Dell Children’s Center for Pulmonary Hypertension. He completed his training in pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Chartan has pursued advanced subspecialty training in pulmonary hypertension and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and has held significant leadership roles, including directing a right ventricular failure program and serving as the educational director for ECMO. He has initiated the comprehensive pediatric pulmonary hypertension program at Dell Children’s Medical Center, aimed at delivering multidisciplinary care for children with pulmonary vascular disease in Central Texas. His clinical research interests focus on the intersection of pulmonary vascular disease and right heart failure, particularly the integration of mechanical circulatory support with surgical interventions to enhance outcomes for children with complex cardiopulmonary conditions.
