Biography

Cornelius Gati is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biological Sciences and Chemistry at the USC Dornsife College. His research focuses on structural biology, particularly in the field of membrane protein biology, including G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and neurotransmitter transporters. With a solid educational background, having obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the DESY – German Synchrotron Light Source, Gati has contributed significantly to the understanding of cryo-electron microscopy (CryoEM) and X-ray crystallography techniques. His work has led to important publications that uncover the structural mechanisms behind various biological processes. Gati has also completed postdoctoral fellowships at prestigious institutions, including Stanford University and the MRC – Laboratory of Molecular Biology. He actively engages in research that advances the development of drug design based on structural insights.
