Biography

Cory Zigler joined the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with joint appointments in the Department of Statistics and Data Sciences and the Department of Women’s Health at Dell Medical School. Prior to joining UT, he was a faculty member in the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Currently, Zigler serves as an associate editor for the journals Biometrics and Biostatistics and is actively involved in elected positions within the Health Policy Statistics Section of the American Statistical Association. His research is motivated by problems in public health epidemiology, focusing on the development of statistical methods for causal inference, mediation analysis, model uncertainty, spatial statistics, and the analysis of environmental and health data. Zigler has received research funding from institutions such as the NIH and EPA, and his accolades include the Young Investigator Award from the Statistics Epidemiology Section of the American Statistical Association in 2012 and the 2019 Rothman Prize for his published work in Epidemiology.
