Biography

Costas N. Georghiades is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, where he holds the Delbert Whitaker Chair. He serves as the Interim Vice President for Research and is also affiliated with the Multidisciplinary Engineering program. Georghiades has made significant contributions to the fields of statistical communication theory, mobile radio, and optical magnetic recording channels. His research focuses on a range of topics including receiver design, synchronization equalization, and distributed source space-time coding. He has published extensively and is recognized for his work in multicarrier modulation and interference rejection techniques. Dr. Georghiades is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has received several accolades for his contributions to engineering education and research. He obtained his Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in 1985, having previously earned both his Master of Science and Bachelor of Engineering from the same discipline at Washington University and American University of Beirut, respectively.
