Biography

Costis Maglaras is the Dean and David Lyn Silfen Professor at Columbia Business School, where he has been a faculty member since 1998. He is an esteemed researcher with a focus on the interface of applied mathematics, economics, and engineering, particularly in the areas of stochastic networks, financial engineering, and algorithmic pricing in revenue management. His background includes a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College London, and both a Master's and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Maglaras has worked with major financial institutions and has a longstanding collaboration with Goldman Sachs’ Global Markets Division, focusing on quantitative research in equity trading. He resides in Manhattan with his wife Niki Kouri and their daughters.
