Dr. Courtney Lewis

Biography

Courtney Lewis is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Athletic Training at the University of Michigan, where she serves as the Clinical Education Coordinator. She is dedicated to advancing the field of Athletic Training through rigorous academic standards and practical training. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing the educational experiences of graduate students in Athletic Training and ensuring high-quality clinical instruction. Lewis is also involved with the Athletic Training Graduate Faculty and is focused on enhancing the curriculum to meet the evolving needs of the profession. With a strong background in Movement Science, she contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the physical demands placed on athletes and the methodologies used in their training and rehabilitation. Through her teaching and supervision, Lewis aims to prepare students for successful careers in Athletic Training and to instill in them a commitment to excellence and professionalism. She is passionate about the integration of evidence-based practices into the training and education of future Athletic Trainers. Lewis is also engaged in research that explores innovative strategies in physical education and athletic training.
