Biography

Courtney S. Pade is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, where she focuses on the Master of Communication Management program. Pade holds a PhD and MA in organizational communication and previously graduated with a BA and MA in media studies from Stanford University. Her research specializes in new communication technologies and how brands utilize online communities to engage consumers. Pade's dissertation explored social exchange relationships and the motivational mechanisms behind expertise exchange in both online and face-to-face contexts. She has extensive teaching experience at Annenberg, where she instructs both undergraduate and graduate classes on organizational communication, marketing, and public speaking, with a current emphasis on research methods and integrated marketing communication.
