Biography

Courtney Zakhary is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Doctor Nursing Practice — Nurse Anesthesia Degree Program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. She is a practicing Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) who began her career at a large Level 1 trauma medical center in Fresno, California. Her current practice involves providing anesthesia care to patients in both hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, and she has taught CRNA students in clinical settings. Zakhary earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University in Shreveport, Louisiana, and she practiced as a Registered Nurse in ICU, ER, and perioperative settings for four years before beginning anesthesia school in 2016. She later earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Zakhary is a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists (AANA) and the California Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists (CANA).
