Biography

Courtney Zulauf-McCurdy is a clinical psychologist focused on empowering caregivers to support the social-emotional development of vulnerable young children. She partners with early childhood centers, school systems, and families to improve early childhood care for children aged 3 to 6 years. Her research is centered on developing strategies to strengthen family-teacher relationships and enhancing the implementation of behavioral interventions in preschool settings. Community-based participatory research informs the ways she supports schools, families, and educators, especially in historically disadvantaged communities. Previously, Courtney was a Pediatric Psychologist at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and served as an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and General Pediatrics at the University of Washington. She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the School Mental Health Assessment, Research Training (SMART) Center at the University of Washington School of Medicine and her Psychology Residency at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
