Biography

Craig Borum is a Professor at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. He teaches courses in architectural design and construction for both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Borum is the founding principal of PLY+ architecture, urbanism, and design. His work has received numerous accolades, including the Progressive Architecture Award and the Research & Design Award from Architect Magazine. In 2018, he was elevated to the College of Fellows by the American Institute of Architects. His projects have garnered several AIA Michigan Design Awards, as well as national and international recognition in various architectural competitions. Borum’s designs have been displayed in 20 exhibitions in both U.S. and international venues. He has contributed to significant projects, such as the Mies van der Rohe Plaza in Detroit, and has been included in major publications across multiple countries. Borum completed his architectural training at the University of Virginia.
