Biography

Craig Criddle is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University and a Senior Fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment. He specializes in microbial biotechnology, focusing on clean water recovery, renewable energy, and renewable materials. He received his PhD from Stanford in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and began his academic career in 1989 at Michigan State University before returning to Stanford in 1998. His scholarly interests also encompass the circular economy and biodegradable plastics as sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels.
