Biography

Craig Daly has worked at the University of Glasgow since July 1, 1980, holding various positions including research technician, research fellow, lecturer, and professor. He is currently a member of the School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health. Craig completed his MSc and PhD in the Faculty of Medicine and was awarded a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy in 2017. Over his career, he has published 150 publications in scientific journals and books dating back to 1985. His research focuses on the cardiovascular system, particularly the autonomic control of arteries and veins and the interaction of vascular wall cells with adrenergic receptors. He has utilized laser scanning microscopy for 30 years to study vascular wall structures and GPCR distribution involved in vascular function, innovating within the realm of fluorescent drugs and 3D image processing. Craig has also incorporated advanced technologies, such as high-performance computers and virtual reality, into his teaching and research practices, and recently developed an interest in machine learning to enhance his work in image processing and drug-receptor interaction studies.
