Craig Jennex is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Toronto Metropolitan University. His scholarly work focuses on LGBTQ2+ culture and politics, queer feminist theory, and popular music studies. Currently, he is writing a book that examines the role of popular music, with special attention to disco and women's music, in the gay and lesbian liberation movement in Canada. He co-authored 'North: Archive of Queer Activism and Kinship in Canada' (Figure 1 Publishing, 2020) with Nisha Eswaran and co-edited 'Popular Music, Politics, and Hope: Queer Feminist Interventions' (Routledge, 2019) with Susan Fast. His research has been published in numerous journals, including Popular Music Society, TOPIA: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies, and GUTS: Canadian Feminist Magazine. Jennex also has experience teaching at institutions such as McMaster University and has received the McMaster Students Union Excellence in Teaching Award for his contributions to education.
