Biography

Craig Kinzer has worked as a professional director and has served as the artistic director of the CSC Repertory, an Off-Broadway resident company in New York. He has produced more than twenty plays and staged productions including Ibsen's 'Brand', 'The Underpants', 'Frankenstein', and Sophocles' 'Ajax'. In Chicago, he worked with the EconoArt Theatre company as an actor, director, and artistic advisor, staging productions such as 'The Underpants' and Moliere's 'Scapin'. At Northwestern University, he directed numerous productions including Horvath's 'Tales from the Vienna Woods', Brecht's 'A Man's a Man', Peter Barnes' 'Red Noses', Stoppard's 'The Real Thing', Steve Martin's 'Picasso at the Lapin Agile', and Alexander Ostrovsky's 'The Forest'. He also directed the American premiere of Helene Cixous' 'Perjured City' in 1997, and has published works in various journals on directing and theatre pedagogy, particularly focusing on the works of Bertolt Brecht.
