Biography

Craig Knoblock is the Keston Executive Director of the Information Sciences Institute and a Research Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Southern California. He has received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Syracuse University and both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. With over 400 published works including journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers, Dr. Knoblock is widely recognized for his contributions to the field of computer science. His research interests lie in the techniques for describing, acquiring, and exploiting semantic data. He has extensively worked on source modeling, schema and ontology alignment, entity record linkage, data cleaning and normalization, and the extraction of data from the web to build knowledge graphs. He is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Dr. Knoblock has also served as past President and Trustee for the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) and has received numerous honors including the prestigious Robert S. Engelmore Award.
