Craig S. Moore is an Associate Professor in the field of Neuroimmunology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. With a PhD from Dalhousie University, he holds a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Neuroscience and Brain Repair. His research interests encompass neuroimmunology, inflammation, glial cell biology, extracellular vesicles, and microRNAs, particularly in relation to multiple sclerosis. His lab is dedicated to investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underpinning neurological diseases, aiming to identify biomarkers and drug targets that facilitate the brain's inherent repair processes. His studies have shown how microRNAs play critical roles in the regulation of cellular functions in the central nervous system (CNS). Moore's work includes exploring the relationship between extracellular vesicles and CNS diseases and evaluating innate immune responses during various neuroinflammatory conditions. He has numerous publications in prominent journals, delving deeply into the mechanisms that govern glial cell functions and neurodegeneration. As a researcher, he aims not only to advance our understanding of neuronal repair pathways but also to identify how specific molecular signatures can inform targeted therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative disorders.
