Biography

Craig Webb is a Senior Lecturer in Microeconomic Theory at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on the foundations, analysis, and application of models of individual choice in risk and uncertainty. Webb examines how behavioral patterns challenge classical Microeconomic Theory, particularly through concepts such as loss aversion, probabilistic risk attitudes, and ambiguity aversion. His primary research agenda integrates empirical insights with mathematical models of decision making, advocating for models that realistically depart from expected utility while remaining usable within Microeconomic Theory. Webb has experience supervising postgraduate students in economics and has taught a range of microeconomic courses at both undergraduate and PhD levels, including Advanced Microeconomics and Microeconomic Analysis. He holds a PhD and MSc in Economics from the University of Manchester, as well as a BA in Financial Economics from the University of Liverpool.
