Dr. Cristian Bellodi

Biography

Cristian Bellodi is a Senior Lecturer at Lund University, where he leads research on post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms in stem cell biology. With a focus on understanding the expression of stem cell genomes in physiological and pathological settings, Bellodi employs the hematopoietic system as a model to study stem cell function. His lab utilizes innovative genetic methods alongside cutting-edge genome-wide sequencing and proteomic techniques to explore central RNA-based regulatory circuits in hematopoietic stem cells and their implications in cancer. Bellodi is actively involved in multiple research projects aimed at uncovering the intricacies of RNA epitranscriptomics, particularly in the context of diseases such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia and triple-negative breast cancer. He contributes to the strategic research area StemTherapy, aiming to advance stem cell-based regenerative therapies.
