Biography

Cristián Eyzaguirre is a JSD candidate at the University of Chicago Law School, specializing in comparative constitutional law and empirical interdisciplinary methods. His research focuses on constitution-making, social rights, and constitutional design in divided societies, which has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Law and Empirical Analysis, Global Constitutionalism, and Latin American Law Review, as well as in edited volumes by Oxford University Press (forthcoming) and Tirant lo Blanch. Before joining the University of Chicago, Cristián earned his JSM from Stanford Law School in 2022 as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar and a Salzburg Cutler Fellow, and holds an LLB with summa cum laude honors from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, obtained in 2016. Cristián has previously worked as a legal advisor to the President of the Republic and the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency in Chile, where he was responsible for overseeing the drafting of decrees, regulations, and legislation. He also served as a research associate for the Comparative Constitutions Project in 2015.
