Biography

Cristiane Squarize is a clinician-scientist and Principal Investigator of the Epithelial Biology Lab at the University of Michigan. She earned her DDS and followed it with a master's degree and Ph.D. in Oral Pathology. Dr. Squarize has been recognized with the prestigious Edward Hatton Award from the International Association for Dental Research for her contributions to head and neck cancer research. Prior to joining the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2010, she spent five years at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, focusing on stem cell biology, epithelial biology, and oral pharyngeal cancer. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor with tenure and is a member of the Michigan Medicine Rogel Cancer Center. Additionally, she is the Division Leader of the UM School of Dentistry Global Initiative and co-director of the Epithelial Biology Lab at the University of Michigan.
