Biography

Cristina Bostan completed the combined Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science program at the University of Montreal, followed by residency in ophthalmology. She served as chief resident and was named on the Dean's List at her graduation. Dr. Bostan then pursued advanced clinical and surgical training in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery at the Cole Eye Institute of the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, where she gained expertise in managing a full spectrum of corneal diseases and eye surface surgeries, corneal transplants, complex cataract surgeries, and anterior segment surgeries, including laser surgeries such as corneal collagen crosslinking, phototherapeutic keratectomy, LASIK, photorefractive keratectomy, and SMILE. She has also engaged in research training focused on corneal diseases and is currently completing a Master's in Translational Research at the University of Toronto and the Clinician-Scientist Training Program at the University of Montreal. Dr. Bostan is now a specialist in Cornea, External Diseases, Cataract/Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery at the University Ophthalmology Centre of the University of Montreal at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. In this role, she supervises medical students, ophthalmology residents, and cornea fellows. She is actively involved in translational and clinical research, aiming to accelerate the speed at which emerging therapies reach her patients. Her research work has earned multiple awards and grants from major provincial and national funding agencies, resulting in over 100 publications and presentations at local and international levels.
