Dr. Cristina Gasparetto

Biography

Cristina Gasparetto is a Professor of Medicine at Duke University and a member of the Duke Cancer Institute. Her research focuses primarily on multiple myeloma, particularly in developing immunotherapy approaches for treatment in conjunction with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Gasparetto is actively involved in clinical trials that investigate novel therapies for multiple myeloma, including the use of dendritic cell vaccines and antibody therapies. Her ongoing efforts include trials involving autologous dendritic cells pulsed with idiotypic protein and high-dose chemotherapy following stem cell transplant. With a robust background in hematology/oncology, she completed her medical degree at Sapienza University of Rome and has held various positions at Duke University since 1993, contributing significantly to advancements in the treatment of blood cancers.
