Biography

Cristina Hernandez Quevedo is a Technical Officer at the European Observatory on Health Systems Policies and a Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, working within LSE Health. Her research focuses on health systems monitoring, international healthcare comparisons, and performance assessments at the European level. Cristina is involved as an editor and author for Health Systems Transition (HiT) reviews and compiles country profiles and policy monitors spanning various nations including France, Portugal, Romania, and Spain. She contributes her analytical skills on topics such as health inequalities, lifestyle factors, access to healthcare, long-term care services, and the socioeconomic determinants of health. With a prolific publication record that includes numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, Cristina has been active in disseminating her research at both national and international forums. Prior to her role at the European Observatory, she was a Research Fellow on the EU-funded 'ECuity Project', collaborating with prominent researchers from the University of York and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
