Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Cristina Rubino. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Cristina Rubino holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a MSc in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia. Her research focuses on cognitive, behavioral, and clinical neuroscience, with recent work examining the role of the oculomotor system in motor skill learning and motor function in stroke recovery. Using eye-tracking, robotics, and neuroimaging, she investigates how neuroplasticity shapes human behavior and supports motor function. As a Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Rubino is currently expanding her research to explore the fundamental mechanisms underlying eye-hand coordination, designing neuroimaging studies to uncover specific neural processes involved in eye and hand movements, and examining the whole-brain networks that interact during these phases. Through extensive basic and clinical research, she aims to improve understanding of brain function to advance treatment strategies and enhance recovery from stroke. Outside of her academic work, Dr. Rubino is an accomplished Ultimate Frisbee player and a strong advocate for mentoring women in sports.
