Biography

Crosby Modrowski is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University, specifically within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Bradley/Hasbro Children's Research Center. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and her PhD in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Children and Families from the University of Utah. Dr. Modrowski completed her predoctoral residency through Brown's Clinical Psychology Internship Training Program and later held a T32 postdoctoral fellowship at Brown. Her research primarily examines the sequelae of trauma and maltreatment exposure in youth involved in the juvenile justice system, with interests in investigating the risk and protective factors associated with transitioning between child welfare and juvenile justice involvement. Clinically, she focuses on adolescent mental health, particularly among at-risk populations and those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. In addition to her academic pursuits, Dr. Modrowski collaborates with DPHB faculty on NIH-funded grants and serves as the Director of the Court Improvement Project while consulting for the Rhode Island Family Court and Rhode Island Training School.
