Biography

Crystal Grant joined Duke University School of Law faculty in 2018 as an Associate Clinical Professor of Law, where she directs the Children’s Law Clinic and leads an interprofessional medical-legal partnership. Her research focuses on accommodating students with disabilities, health justice, and interprofessional education. Professor Grant has published work in reputable journals, including the Fordham Urban Law Journal, Loyola University Chicago Law Journal, and the NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. In addition to her role at the clinic, she teaches interdisciplinary project-based seminars. She previously practiced public interest law with an emphasis on disability rights and served as a clinical fellow at the University of Michigan Law School's Pediatric Advocacy Clinic. Professor Grant has represented children and families in administrative hearings and federal courts and played a significant role in resolving issues related to special education and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). She is also involved in providing continuing education to attorneys and medical providers on topics related to trauma-informed care and bullying. An active member of the Clinical Legal Education Association, Professor Grant frequently presents at national workshops and conferences.
