Biography

Crystal LaFlamme is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia. She holds a PhD in Geology from the same university, awarded in 2014, and has an MSc in Earth Sciences from Memorial University of Newfoundland, which she completed in 2010. Crystal obtained her BSc in Geology from Acadia University in 2007. Her research interests are focused on the geochemistry of mining resources, particularly using isotopes and analytical geochemistry to advance understanding in the fields of geodynamics and other related areas. She has published numerous works, contributing significantly to the understanding of multiple sulfur isotopes applied to exploration—in particular, fingerprinting sulfur reservoirs. Crystal has also held external positions as an Associate Professor at Université Laval since June 2023, and previously worked as an Assistant Professor there from August 2018 to March 2023. Her expertise aligns closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education. She is a recognized contributor to various data projects and has been actively involved in multiple research projects, demonstrating a deep commitment to her field.
